ProLogium Technology, a leader in solid-state battery innovation, has made significant strides in both technological advancements and commercialization efforts:

Technological Breakthroughs

ProLogium unveiled a groundbreaking next-generation battery technology featuring:

1. A "film-free" design with a ceramic separator, replacing traditional polymer film separators[2].

2. The world's first 100% silicon composite anode battery, showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show[3][6].

3. Impressive energy density metrics:

  • 749 Wh/L (volumetric) and 321 Wh/kg (gravimetric)

  • Projected to reach 823 Wh/L and 355 Wh/kg by the end of 2024[3][6].

4. Fast-charging capabilities:

  • 5% to 60% in 5 minutes

  • 5% to 80% in 8.5 minutes[2][3].

Commercial Progress

1. Taoyuan Gigafactory:

  • First giga-level factory in Taiwan

  • Set to start supplying automakers in 2024[4].

2. French Gigafactory Project:

  • €5.2 billion investment planned for Dunkirk, France

  • Initial capacity of 2-4 GWh, scalable to 48 GWh

  • Construction expected to begin by late 2024 or early 2025

  • Mass production scheduled for 2027[5].

3. Partnerships:

  • Collaboration with FEV Group to develop next-generation battery packs[1][3].

  • Automotive customers include Mercedes-Benz and VinFast[5].

4. R&D Expansion:

  • Opened first overseas R&D center in Paris-Saclay in May 2024[4].

Future Outlook

ProLogium is positioning itself as a game-changer in the EV market with its "Small Battery, Big Future" concept[3]. The company aims to address key challenges in the electric vehicle industry, including:

  • Reducing vehicle weight and improving energy efficiency

  • Enhancing fast-charging capabilities

  • Lowering carbon taxes and initial vehicle costs

  • Improving the residual value of used EVs through modular design and recyclability[3][5].

However, ProLogium has announced plans to control its expansion pace, particularly for the French gigafactory project, in response to the slowdown in the EV market development[5]. Despite this, the company remains committed to innovation and collaboration in the solid-state battery ecosystem.
